Day 11: Today is unusual. While the organisers, in conjunction with the local council and local press, convene a jury of photographers and professional journalists, we are free to choose how we spend the day: taking pictures, sorting through our photos or working on our reports. In fact, each team has to produce a report relating to one of the countries visited, something that most of us have never done before. In the end, it is a fascinating experience and an excellent way of opening doors to places that are usually closed to tourists. Our efforts, judged in Helsinki by the final jury, will contribute to the final classification. At the end of the day, we gather to hear the results of the first week’s photo competitions and watch a slideshow of our pictures. The juries award points to each of the photos we submit and then add together the points for each team to obtain the interim classification.
